OBO Robo body armour

Hey Guys
Purchased my first 'new' bit of kit for some time. Decided to finally replace my extremely aged 10 year old cloud body armour with something new and hopefully a bit more protective, but just as light!

First impressions:
Tried it on, much less flexible and 'soft' than my cloud overall but, much better fit esp neck/ clavicle/ shoulder protection. This upper section fits snuggly and is very flexible. the lower body is extremely rigid. This I think is what they mean by exoskeleton fit....

OBO PE helmet questions.

I've just purchased an OBO PE helmet from ebay, and as soon as I unpacked it I was surprised at how light it is.... And then at how much flex is in the plastic, and how flimsy it feels when you flick it...

My question is what kind of level have people used this helmet in? I play in Hampshire/Surrey Div 2 in the UK, is this helmet going to protect me from the kind of shots I face here? My current helmet is a bauer ice hockey helmet and grill, paired with an OBO neck guard, so I can't...

Obo Robo Bored shorts

So the week before my birthday a box with verbunt hockey all over it turns up at our door and Im apparently banned from opening it, Wonder what that is!

Its the New Robo Bored shorts and my my are these things beautiful. Right out of the box you can immediately see very thorough with no patch on the front of the shorts left unprotected.

the shorts are symmetrical and i think divides into three sections on either side.
  1. large thigh pads- these seem to be made of the same...

Hi all
does anyone have a review of the tk s1 body armour my mercian has worn out and need a new one and not sure what to get, i like a tight fit BA (i have tried searching for one)
i need to make sure it protects well enough so would like some honest opinions on BA out there im not paying £121 for the mercian i bought mine when it was £70 and its not worth any more than that.
dont need a review of the obo as that is on my list :) many thanks

bauer vapor elbows

Just ordered a pair of these to replace my old elbow pads due to straps keeping popping open.
They are a 3 piece design so the forearm hinges from the elbow cup, hopefully giving a bit more mobility. Will post a short review when i get them

Is the Mazon Arrow the best gk stick available?

After using many many different gk sticks over the years my search for the ultimate gk stick may be been satisfied, the Mazon Arrow. It's taken me quite a while to make such a bold statement, but I've used OBOs finest, gryphons best, Mericians Znakes, Grays, the odd field stick, the Mazon's Black Magics & various TKs. The stick is very very light weight, thick edges, full maxi head shape, has excellent performance when it comes to making power hits to knock the ball away, minimal vibration...

Is the Mazon Arrow the best gk stick available?

Whilst it has been a long time coming, I thought I would take the time to post regarding my experience with my Mazon ProForce XR legguards and kickers. I have been using these for about six months now at senior level. I would like to state that I am in no way an expert on GK gear and I have no affiliation with Mazon or any other brand. The following opinions are mine alone.

First off the bat, both the legguards and kickers are light. Damn light.

OBO ROBO HI REBOUND Hand protectors

I'm between 2 minds with the GK OBO hi rebound gloves. The rhp+/normal rhp. I was planning on getting the normal rhp but I saw that there is no strap to hold with your stick like I'm used to, the stick simply hangs loosely with just your hand holding it. I'm concerned about the stability of it so then I thought of getting the rhp+. But, I also have a problem with that as you see in the picture there is no Kind of back to it where the back of the stick comes out and will the stick go all over...

TK P1 Body Armour

Having used my Bauer roller hockey body armour for a while, I decided to take the plunge and update my kit.
Trained in TK P1 last night. I am TK sponsored, hence reason for buying this, but the review is genuine.
It was a bit stiff at first but soon broke in.
I found it very similar to my previous Bauer, but with a great deal more quality protection. It is not as bulletproof as obo Robo, but is much easier to move in (I have tried another keepers obo kit). It has the better shoulder...

Grays 200 Shorts

So i recently purchased some Grays 200 shorts. I have been using the through December and first few matches in jan. They had been okay until this week just gone. During this week i have had 2 coaches putting speed and power behind shots which have hit of the thinnest part of the padding in these shorts. My legs are sore bruised. The shorts are good for some protection but inner thigh areas there is little to no padding.
Has anyone else had similar problem with shorts.

I am looking to upgrade my current kit as it is getting a bit worn out. I currently have a mercian county kit, with a slazenger body armour all of which needs upgrading. Was looking at either monarch or obo kit and wondered if anyone had any advice?

Kuka Monster GK Stick

Scouring the internet for something a little out of the ordinary, I came across Kuka Hockey (http://www.kukahockey.com), who had a goalie stick - The Monster - on sale for £50, reduced from £75. Given that my current stick was long overdue for retirement, I took the plunge and handed over the cash.

For the purposes of this review, I'll be comparing the Monster to another goalie stick (the Brabo Traditional Carbon Original) and...

I'm looking to buy a new GK bag and was looking at the Mazon XR Deluxe but can't get one until February [​IMG] but then noticed the new Gryphon Fat Tony bags are at Just Hockey [​IMG] and now I don't know what to choose! Can anyone help me out here with what bags they use and why?

Shorts

Needing new shorts mine are coming apart at a faster rate every time I use them and are probably beyond repair. What are people using what do people recommend. Play at club level got relatively short legs and a fat bum. Tend to find most shorts catch on the top of my legguards. Use an obo cloud box.

TK P1 helmet compared to OBO FG

Hi,

Looking at getting a new helmet.

For the past 3 years I have used an OBO FG at my club. Personally I find it fits well because of the elastic and its shape. I do wonder about the protection (had 2 concussions from collisions (back of head)) as the foam seems rather thin, but could that be due to the protection from the shell? (It doesn't seem like it should be the case).

Tried a P1 on. The fit felt a little strange, but to be expected due to the thicker and firmer padding and the chin...

Pre-Review Review

So, firstly I should say that this is a long, comprehensive review. It's aimed at someone like me, who doesn't mind doing a lot of reading in order to be satisfied that they're buying the right product. I can't even buy a kettle without researching for a week!
